#DigiInventors Challenge 2024 Secondary School Edition

On A Mission, To Test Your Ambition!

We're thrilled to announce the #DigiInventors Challenge 2024 Secondary School Edition, an exceptional learning opportunity for creative young minds to shine, is now live and open to all Secondary school pupils across Scotland and the UAE.

The aim is to inspire and empower young people to identify and develop entrepreneurial and digital skills while raising awareness of career opportunities in the digital health and care sector.

The Challenge is now entering its eighth year and is delivered by the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre in partnership with dressCode, City of Glasgow College, The Scottish Tech Army, Heriot-Watt University in Dubai and…

We have some exciting news – we are delighted to announce that this year we partnered with Scottish Hockey to encourage our young people to harness digital technology and e-gaming to reimagine field hockey, boost youth participation, and enhance physical well-being!

When is it?

The #DigiInventors Challenge Secondary School Edition kicks off from August to December.

We've teamed up with dressCode, City of Glasgow College, the Scottish Tech Army and Scottish Hockey to provide you with top-notch resources for your classroom activities. Our goal is to support your learning, teaching, and idea development every step of the way.

For our friends in the UAE, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, will be delivering the challenge just for you with the brightest minds from Scotland and the UAE getting the chance to shine on the global stage.

But wait, there's more! Shortlisted finalists will embark on an exciting 2-day boot camp where you'll fine-tune your ideas and attend expert-led sessions to supercharge your creativity.

And that's not all – a grand finale awaits, where you'll present your brilliant idea to a panel of esteemed judges.

With this comes a brand-new challenge question...

“How can digital technology and/ or e-gaming be used to re-invent the game of field hockey to inspire increased physical activity, participation, and well-being of our young people?”

We've produced a suite of learning and teaching resources to be used in the classroom to develop initial ideas and thinking, which will be available on our website in the next few weeks. Successful shortlisted teams will then get access to a new range of video resources before embarking on an exciting 2-day boot camp to refine their ideas and gain insights from expert-led sessions. The journey concludes with a grand final where they'll present their brilliant ideas to our panel of esteemed judges.
